: A Stone's Throw from the Latin Quarter

Located on the Left Bank, in the centre of Paris (5th and 6th arrondissements) and very close to the hotel, the Latin Quarter is the capital's historic student district. It is home to the largest and oldest schools and universities, including the Sorbonne, Sciences Po, the Beaux-Arts, the Ecole Normale Supérieure and Henri IV.

The Latin Quarter is one ofthe most emblematic areas of Paris. In fact, it is home to many relics of the capital's history, since this is where the Roman Lutetia was located under Julius Caesar. It's also a favourite spot for visitors, who flock to Boulevard Saint-Michel to discover this friendly neighbourhood, the liveliest in Paris. Bistros, cafés, restaurants, bookshops, including the famous Shakespeare and Company, and cinemas line the picturesque streets and squares such as rue Mouffetard, one of the oldest in Paris, and place de la Contrescarpe.

There are dozens of tourist attractions: the Arènes de Lutèce, the Panthéon where some of the greatest figures in French history are buried, the Sorbonne, the Musée de Cluny (Musée National du Moyen Age), the Odéon theatre, not forgetting cabarets such as the Paradis Latin and the Caveau de la Huchette, a not-to-be-missed venue for jazz fans. Just a stone's throw away, you'll find the Ile de la Cité and Notre-Dame Cathedral (the most visited Parisian monument), the Ile Saint-Louis and the Maison Berthillon, where you can sample the best ice creams in Paris.
